I'd also echo the sentiments of other people in this thread who recommend trying it a few times in a safe, controlled environment like your bedroom first before heading out into a place where circumstances can change quickly.
It's hard to give advice about something like this, because no one knows what you're like OP. Some people can do drugs like a champ, others freak out and can't hang.
