It is a good idea to study the different types of tobaccos if you are seriously interested in this, there are multiple types of Burley and Virginia, sometimes even throwing Cigar wrapper tobaccos into the mix can spice blends in a less sour way than Perique
> Have you done any pressing to make flakes or plugs? Is it good?No flakes or plugs yet, I do have a press but have not gone that route yet
It may not look appealing but I am really interested in making rope/twist, I know pic related looks funny, but rope is a nice way to prepare/merry the blends in my opinion, not the best but it is all preference/opinion
>I'm also probably going to start growing since I'm in the southeast and my backyard is fertile as all hell and I have a large shed I can leave it hanging in to cure. Main limitation is grow space so I'll be limited to a few plants of maybe two varieties. Most tobacco loves sunlight, almost cannot get enough and it is very easy to grow
Although this is for cigar tobacco, the process is mostly the same, this video may help visually show the steps involved from start to finish when air curing and the only difference if ribbon cut is that you will add that step at the end
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_mGFeOwjfbsI do not care for Bespoke, but there is plenty of valuable information to digest that is not specific to cigars but rather tobacco in general
I hope that was helpful anon and best of luck
