>>2153370>Me and my friends have talked in depth about abducting wolves and releasing them in heavily deer populated areas.Might work better with Cougars, they can hide themselves from humans better so they're less likely to get caught and killed early on unlike wolves who'll just get mistaken for Coyotes and shot.

So long as there are enough large predators to keep the populations of these animals under control, their presence can actually benefit the ecosystem since all the native plants and animals are already adapted for the presence of nearly identical animals that went extinct 10,000 years ago.
The next logical step would be to introduce Camels to the Southwest, Llamas and Alpacas to the Rockies and Muskoxen to more areas of the Arctic.
