Depending on the length of the trip you can bring any meat with you if you try hard enough. Pre cooked unsalted meat works too for a short time if you really want it.
It's risky but a few times camping I had packaged pre cooked sirloin steak that I vacuum sealed at home. I put them in small meals in a butchered flexible cooler that I sewed to be no bigger than a 12x 11 folder. It only lasted for 2 days but having some meat like that was fucking awesome just to have. Could have probably brought more.
