my online research has led me towards ultralight. saw a youtube vid of a guy fishing from the surf with an ultralight setup and it seemed like a lot of fun. he was using a mitchell 310 pro reel which is within my budget, so I'm gonna be picking up one of those.
my question for you guys: for my particular needs, should I go with a short ultralight rod (4'6") or long (6')?
