>>2711714Bunk I made from an old cot. Pulled the frame apart and just used the fabric from it.
Cut/threaded some 1/2" black pipe for the frame, 90° fittings for the corners. The long hinge side is two pipe pieces that butt together in the middle, which allows me to tighten all the fittings.
Built some bracket-hinges to bolt to the wall studs. The middle bracket is about 6" long, the butt of the two halves sits in the middle of that bracket, and the two brackets on the corners keep those pipes centered in the middle bracket.
Couple of rope supports from the ceiling, and cheap cambuckle straps on the corners hold the bed up to the ceiling to get it out of the way when I'm not using it.
It's mounted as high as it is so I can get sleds/bikes under the bunk, nice when I want to get some sleep while i'm travelling. Pull over and shut the truck down, kick the heater on, and sleep.
