Welcome to the first Northlands general.
>What is the "Northlands"?
Northlands is a term I've coined for the region of boreal forest and boreal transition zone located in eastern North America. It's a semi vague region, but covers the northern Great Lakes region of the US, along with some regions of northern New England. In Canada it covers the forested region East of the Rockies, north of the Great Plains and the Ontario Peninsula, and south of the Tundra.
>What is the purpose of this general?
To discuss parks, trails, canoe trips, fishing, hunting and backpacking in this underrated, yet vast and remote region.
