2. Make sure you have good biking bibs. And definitely bring a repair kit. Walking to the next village to find out there isn't a bike store there sucks.
3. Don't know, I've never gone alone. In smaller towns this isn't much of an issue anyway.
4. Depends on how much of a quitter you are.
5. In Germany it's not very common to do this, and there is a lot of private land that doesn't look like it at first sight. You can always find smaller camping sites, they're usually about 10EUR a night.
It's a lot different than the US, don't be too afraid of cars, germans won't kill you.
