>>659263The biggest mistake I made was trying to work with the metal before softening it in my "forge" ( fire with hair dryer) as I broke a few drill bits and it took me a solid 3 hours to grind down the metal. I kept referring back to the internet in the heat treating process as that is the most nerv raking part. However it turned out fine. Total cost to me was under 10$ usa for the brass rod/epoxy/gun blue. I already. Had the worn out file and the burl wood. I some of the file markings as well.
