>>271329Buy or make a fruit picker for it. You can make one out of a long pole with various styles of heads. Some types "groom" the plant and pull the fruit off. I have a big basket picker like that I use for apples. Other types use a PVC pipe that has a larger inside diameter than the diameter of the fruit and on the end has been cut and melted into a 2 prong, curved fork that picks the fruit. The fruit then rolls down through the pipe to you. (pic related)
If you have a spot welder you can make a groomer basket out of coat hanger wire. The wire isn't all that strong so you'd need to have the tines well supported and relatively short; which is fine for cherries.
Do an image search for "DIY fruit picker" and you'll see tons of simply-made fruit pickers. Some are just some trash and duct tape and work well. The kind that groom the shrub or tree are normally the fastest pickers since they cover the most area. Those are great for stuff like blueberries, cherries, and other thornless fruits.
