I've been detecting 30 years, but I really got into it about 15 years ago. I started spending 40-60 hours per week detecting from spring until the first snow. Nothing but detecting and drinking whiskey and talking to other beep-walkers. I got really good at it.
Here's my most recent fun find, an old ghost town saloon token with a nail through it. Used as a roofing nail I guess. It would be worth a couple hundred bux if it wasn't for that square nail! Still just a fun find because it says something interesting about how people lived.
