Course gold is hard to come by, do not expect to be finding nuggets like this every few pans. The most likely stuff you will find is flood gold, which is very thin and fine, or often dust. Its trapped everywhere though, panning the moss on creek banks often shows your best indicator early on for gold in a water course.
