Caught a 36 inch sandbar shark a few miles off the coast at Edisto Beach. I was floored. I go fishing with my family in norther Ontario every few years, but whether I'm trolling or lake fishing, the best I can catch is sun fish and perch, and they're never more than a foot long. I've never felt anything pull like this before.
The coolest part of the trip was my uncle almost catching a barracuda. He caught a smaller one and decapitated it, and cast it near an artificial reef. When the thing flipped out of the water, I thought it was at least 4 feet long. But right as we were about to get it into the boat, he bit the line.
I can't wait to go ocean fishing again.
