Hello everyone, I'm surprised to see old 4chan culture has survived on the slow boards, it's honestly refreshing and exactly the sort of place I hope to learn from.
As for an introduction, here's my current balcony set-up, I'm currently growing salad greens (and parsley) in the growbag, and will be starting arugula soon. Out of that, I've got some bell peppers, basil, lemon balm, rosemary, and in the little egg cartons I've got some really nice grape tomato seedlings that I put out during the day and keep on my computer tower at night.
I've always wanted to garden and finally able to but I'm kind of poor so, I've been able to snag free seeds, a miniature pallet for my soil and pots and stuff, and have been enjoying making my own compost, growing things from seed, and trying to build up a true food forest of a balcony. I'm gonna start some jalapenos, more bell peppers soon, and some sauce tomatoes, and since I'm in Zone 10B, I can start them early and have a ton producing by early spring. If anyone has any recommendations for things to start or try as a complete beginner with limited funds and unlimited time, I am entirely open to them. Appreciate y'all!
>>2254635Dirt is a loose definition that encompasses sand, clay, and other inorganic material, ideally, you should look for black rich dirt, that clearly has a lot of organic material broken down into it.
>>2255044Any other uses that I can use for them, I've got a ton of trees around me, though I wouldn't exactly trust them to be clean enough to eat, what with the dogs and owners around.
