The signal is okay but my honest opinion is that there are better multitools that leatherman makes that will do everything the signal does but better and have more useful tools. If they dropped the price & then reworked the whistle to be louder along with a better fatter ferro rod on the signal it would be quiet a good multitool but at the price its currently out I have a hard time recommending this vs the leatherman ridge or more robust leatherman models.
