Listing off every nature related book I have on audible:
How to read nature, by Tristan Gooley
good read, pretty comfy. Especially useful if you are new to the outdoors and want to appreciate it better.
Rambunctious garden, by Emma Marris
Interesting. Journalist writes on essentially a new perspective of what constitutes nature and how nature adapts or fits into the human sphere. Sometimes scientifically inaccurate but an interesting take.
The hidden half of nature, by David R Montgomery
All about microbes and fungus and such. Informative in terms of soil health. Interesting for gardeners
Restoration agriculture, by Mark Shepard
Intro to permaculture basically.
Nature's best hope and bringing nature home, both by Douglas Tallamy
Explains the importance of native plants. A veritable bible for making your home property more helpful to nature.
The botany of desire, by Michael Pollan.
Pollan is a degenerate fag, but it's a good book. More specifically about plants than nature but same sphere. He discusses several plants and how humans have monkeyd with them.
The genius of birds, by Jennifer Ackerman
Bird intelligence and intuition. Really illuminates just how amazing bird frens are
The Cabaret of Plants, by Richard Mabey
Not sure how to discuss this one. He talks about plants and thier intersection with culture I guess. It's a comfy read though for sure.
Origins, by Lewis Dartnell
This one had to do with nature but I honestly can't remember what. It was not written in an engaging way.
The song of the Dodo, by David Quammen
Longer book. Very informative. Deals with island biology and island extinction and how it may scale to the larger continent level. One of the more interesting books in this list
The rights of nature, by David R Boyd
A bit of lefty political jabs mixed in by its a good read. Talks about the legal precedents and standing of nature in various western systems as well as its history.
