Throwing my plan a bit, the camping reserves on either side of the Turon River crossing were occupied, including some backpackers who were doing the same tent-in-the-shelter trick I'd done at Black Gate.
A bit further on, however, I found an unofficial/unmarked camping site that must've been a workers plot at some point. No facilities, but there was nearby running water.
