>>1314604The legal vultures spooked people into thinking they'd get $50,000 fines slapped on them for even looking at Europeans the wrong way. When in reality nobody gives a shit and enforcement is going to be non-existent outside of the EU. Like, what would P&C do if they got a letter from Bulgaria's enforcement agency? Send them a cheque? I can't imagine P&C do much business in Europe, given anyone buying tobacco from them would be hit with massive customs invoices. Easier to just block it and hope nobody gets through (which they will, since GeoIP isn't perfect).
>>1315357>This is literally just technocratic book banning. In this case it would be the publisher banning the book. Which doesn't make much of a difference since you can get around it with a VPN and GDPR is still enforceable. Some of it is reasonable, some isn't. Like having to disclose a breach to those affected within 72 hours. Instead of what happened with Equifax, where most people found out from Bloomberg months after.
Also snuffposting.
