I was a boyscout, but that's 15+ years ago, and I haven't been /out/ since.
So I'm finally going back for a casual one-nighter in southern Norway. Do you have any tips for a complete newbie about to make big mistakes?
I'm going to try hauling a light one-man tent with my electric bicycle, after hauling the bike up to the edge of the city by the underground. It's a thin-wheeled city bike with no suspension, but the roads are mostly gravel before you enter the real woods, so I hope I'll be able to find a nice place to hide it away and lock it up, and then walk in between the trees.
Other things I'm bringing:
-Light gas stove and cannister, cutlery
-Knife
-Lighter (and a ferro rod for larping)
-Toilet paper
-Powder stew and pre-fried meat
-"Three season" sleeping bag and thin matress
-A water bottle or two (I expect to find drinkable flowing water)
-A wind proof jacket, somewhat water-resistant
-Outdoor pants
-Woolen underwear (top and bottom) in case the night gets cold (not allowed to make a fire before the 15th, sadly)
-A cover for the bike
-Powerbank
-LED lamp
-Dry socks and underwear, extra t-shirt
Am I forgetting something vital? Anything I should think of before setting out?
Sorry if this doesn't deserve a separate thread.
