I VERY much want to hunt, but also for the purposes of SHTF reasons, I want to get a .308 rifle because of it's widespread ammo availability, which I am told all the time would persist after a SHTF deal. Ive seen .308 rifles go from 300 to 400 bucks which is a semi managable price for me. But, I've read that .30-06 is a more powerful round, and that 6.5 creedmore round is getting popular with long range guys, but those are super costly rifles.
People who like .308, tell my why I should get a .308, people who dislike it, please tell me why I should not.
