>>1842387There's no causation between abrahamic religions and environmental issues. It was abrahamic religions that introduced and popularized their own brands of veganism. Abrahamic religions were also responsible for our contemporary stewardship mentality (early christian and jewish law had pieces devoted to animal health and minimal agricultural impact), without which you wouldn't have the stepping stone of conservation and management to build an ecologically minded framework. In fact I believe the real issue is when you desacrilize nature by ripping traditional abrahamic constructs out of one's worldview. The only reason there's a remote correlation between the abrahamic religions and our current state of affairs, is because of the quick millennium descent into atheism, glutonous consumerism, and disregard for nature that people like Muir attempted to fix through a love of God and nature. If traditional dietary issues, ecological lessons, and theology were more widespread I would argue we'd have a better world.
