They've been stored for a dozen years in a very dry apartment without ever being smoked, so it might be the cause.
I contacted a goldsmith which could redo the broken collar for 70€, but I would like to keep the original stamps. Now I'm just waiting for Peterson to respond to my inquire. I also have an acquaintaince that is supposedly very good at pipe restoration, but I think this might be beyond him
