Solar is decent, but an isolator and a good AGM battery is far superior. Make sure your voltage regulator can handle it and your alt has good amperage. I built my isolator for $10 the battery was about $250 for a higher quality AGM with 120amp hour rating. I can fully charge the battery off a 100amp alt in under 20 minutes with the engine under light load. I have a converter I pulled from an RV in a junkyard that works mint for plugging in when I find an outlet (I find them all the time) I use a 400 watt inverter, enough to charge laptop, cellphones, mobile batteries, my impact driver and my mini air compressor.

I paid more for my custom foam mattress than I do anything in my van and I couldn't be happier. There is literally nothing else I could want in my van. I spent very little money.

I could go on and on and on about what separates the little bitches from the men when living in a van, but it's pretty self explanatory. Instead of pointless, heavy shit I spend my money on delicious food, beer, and non-resident hunting and fishing permits. I also invest in land use permits.
