The pic related I posted earlier officially has 4,100 ft (1250m) of prominence from base to peak and there are trails that climb 4,300 ft (1300m) to the peak and it's not ranked very high in my state. I took the pic part way up at 4,900 ft (1500m) asl and there was still 2,900 ft (884m) that could be gained to reach the peak. The Rocky Mountain states tend to have lower prominence and vertical relief, but even then you can still do a 2000m ascent in parts of the Rockies.
