>>1185374Here's some added info. I can't seem to find any military surplus coats that use down as insulation. The closest thing I can find are German military surplus coat/liners that is quilted in a zig-zag pattern, but it isn't down insulated, it is polyamide/polyester. Seems modern military surplus stuff are Thinsulate, GORE-TEX, polyester fleece, PrimaLoft, polyester, cotton, polyurethane, and other synthetics; across several world militaries. Most of the cotton-containing insulation stuff is extremely thin though. The colder weather stuff is full synthetic, some even with acrylic insulation. Most wool stuff is for underlayers like shirts, pants, and liners, not actual coats. Though there are some wool pea coats/trench coats, all from really cold locations like Russia and Switzerland, but also Finland (pic) which itself doesn't really get too cold (warmer than where I live at least).
