>>1599006I live in one of those zones where several species' ranges overlap. So, I get timber rattlesnakes, copperheads, and water moccasins(cottonmouth). I've never seen one, but there's also been rare cases of eastern coral snakes here, but this is really too far north for them. The water moccasin's venom eats away flesh and can require amputations as treatment. Timber rattlesnakes are pretty chill and give you a good loud warning, but have buckets of venom and are gigantic. Copperheads are fairly aggressive, though I've stepped through and around many of them before. They just don't back down or flee when disturbed and are more likely to bite. Corral snakes can kill you with one bite within a couple of hours, but they are so meek, hidden, and rarely seen, even in their range that they are rarely a problem for anyone. I've only known people to get bitten by copperheads in my area and I've had to kill about 4 dozen of them around my property.
What venomous snakes do you have where you live, if any?
