>>496371Hultafors hatchet (800g) The finish is not like with Gransfors and Wetterling, but I like mine. The sheath is not very good though.
I wouldn't recommend the long handled Estwing. It's too light to replace a real axe anyway and the blade steel is soft for heavy use. Something that can be used comfortably with one hand and with two hands would be my recommendation.
Don't buy anything with plastic handle (Schrade, Fiskars etc.) People who design those things don't know anything about axes. In fact they are usually sharpened like you would sharpen a knife, and the blade is very thick (has to be, as they are made of chinese crap steel that would break otherwise). Just look at the blade profile and you see those axes don't bite well and are almost impossible to sharpen without machine tools.
>>497130>Cold SteelMany people seem to like CS tomahawks. I haven't tried any. They are good steel and a real option between a knife and an axe.
>>497091>We are everywhere. Thankfully this thread is about axes and not about the fact that I prefer batoning knives over hatchets.
