I'm sure you guys don't remember me, I posted once in one of these threads a month or two ago about wanting to grow sunflowers.
TODAY, I ended up buying the "dwarf" sunflower seeds from the garden section of the store to grow them and planted them in some flower pots with fresh soil. Note I said dwarf, I had my heart set on the huge sunflowers to harvest more seeds, but I've feared I wouldn't have the spot to grow them and I don't know if a large sunflower (6ft+) can even grow out of a large flower pot so I stuck to the smaller sunflower variety that I know I can manage.
Right now I have three flower pots with some seeds spread out in each of them out in our warm California backyard. How often should I be going out there and watering them in this stage? I read for sunflowers that the soil should always be moist, should I be going out every few hours during the day and lightly showering the dirt with water to be sure it's staying moist?
This is really the first time I've ever tried growing a plant.
