I could use some advice if you guys don't mind. I've been seriously considering the van life for months now. I'm bored and tired of my current living situation. I need things to change. I don't want to pay rent for a home that isn't even mine. And I definitely don't want to be tied down to one location for the rest of my life. I want to be free to go wherever I want, whenever I want.
I've looked at all sorts of car brands and all sorts of car models. I think the Chevy Express Cargo 2017 is the car for me. Do you guys think it would be a good choice for van life? I made my own blueprint as far as what I want to put in it. I've been doing research on van conversion over the past few months too, watching dozens of videos and reading articles. It seems like a challenge but honestly, what better way to spend my time than chasing a dream?
This is the sort of van I've always wanted since I was a kid. I have enough money saved up for a down payment on a new Chevy Express Cargo. My monthly payment on the car would be the same as the rent I pay now, so my financial situation probably won't change. I'll pay more for car insurance and probably gas, but I'm good with my money. I know how to manage myself and keep a close eye on my finances.
I think it's a good idea, what about you guys? Should I go for a new van or try to find a decently priced used one? I would prefer new, but some of my friends have really been making me consider a used car. If I bought a new car, I probably wouldn't finish the monthly payments for five years or so. I'm a patient guy and I don't mind investing all that time into my own car, but it could prove to be a struggle to keep up a steady flow of income for that length of time. Especially if I'm going to be living in this thing that entire time, probably even longer.
TL;DR Need some advice. I just want to call up Chevy tomorrow and place the order, but the voice in the back of my head keeps telling me to think this through more thoroughly.
