I've discovered that apple watches will royally fuck with a military compass if you're wearing it while trying to shoot an azimuth. We tested this with like 5 different apple watches and like 20 different compasses, and they all fucked with the azimuth to an alarming degree. I don't know if it only affects military compasses or all others, but keep that in mind when selecting a watch. Garmin watches seem fine, dunno about samsung or other brand smartwatches.
