Bows and arrows would be good I guess. Maybe spears but with little experience probably difficult to use. Harpoons (for fishing) are powerful but you only have one shot; reloading would take too much time. Dogs would very useful, some have been bred for fighting or defending against bears, pic somewhat related, there might be better breeds but these caucasian shepard dogs are big and very fluffy, so they at least will help you in getting a gf.
Maybe a powerful whistle, but tell people next to you to protect their ears. Either the whistle that are being used for regattas. I wonder how the bears would react to 'aztec' death whistles. Maybe you can try it in a zoo, op?
There was a video on youtube, with two hunters (one had an ear ring, someone in the comments disliked that, they were probably sponsored by a company and they got surprised by a mother bear, trying to protect their cub(s). They fought her off by kicking her and yelling at her from two sides. The bear was surprised and didn't commit to one attack because being yelled at by two sides confused her. So having more people is useful.
