If you're in Florida then ya- go find a fucking 8 foot python and shoot it in the head.
Road kills CAN be OK, I just skinned a timber that stuck its head over the white line and got clipped. When I found it it was still moving and just a few inches were damaged.
If you have a snake but aren't ready to skin then throw it in the freezer. I just skinned a snake I've been sitting on for over half a decade.
If you're not single PLEASE talk to you significant other before putting it in the freezer next to the ice cream (mine have been in the beer fridge in the garage).
Put in plastic garbage bag and leave open, freeze overnight then tie bag tightly.
When you're ready to skin either leave in fridge for about a day and a half or you can submerge in warm water for about a half hour then skin.
