It will and I did the same thing when I started but I fairly quickly bought an SJ24 that I moor as I didn’t like trailering and I live right by the ocean anyway. The upside to starting on a dinghy is they are inexpensive and you can immediately feel every tiny little thing you do in them and you will learn a lot as a result. The downside is they are twitchy as fuck and you will get wet. I love my boat but would really like to go out in a dinghy again knowing what I know now.
