>>1696491Literally did this exact thing for months on the west coast.
Hit about 25 or so Nat parks and monuments and had the best time of my life. Was constantly on the move so unless I was back country camping, sleeping in the car and using it as a base camp was easier.
Websites like freecampsites or pre research for blm land/empty primitive campsites you can park and won't be bothered is pretty crucial. Other than that, supplies is the only other real limiter. I tried to keep total meal costs under 5 bucks a day, but I was also a poorfag who malnourished himself to save money. Consider a small white gas camp stove, buying and cooking 8 lbs of Costco chicken for like 3 bucks was a godsend, with a little oil and seasoning salt. Apples and carrots will keep for ages, and a 5 gallon water jug was always good insurance. I was also able to get cases of MREs for about $3 a pack from local surplus, for when I was hiking all day as well, very convenient but pre made stuff is usually Hella expensive
For sleeping I had a thin air mattress to put in the car bed and I never wanted for comfort. Lots of blankets and pillows, and waking up with the solar cycle to the sounds of nature... Pic related
