Here's something from experience for you, so I will not be accused of avoiding the question.
The hawk's nonpermanent handle-eye interface allows the head to be removed for greater precision. Ever skin and dress a deer with a hatchet? It sucks: that damn handle is always in the way, and the balance is awful. With a hawk, just remove the head and you have something akin to an ulu.
Since we're making demands, what is your proficiency with tomahawks? How many have you owned? How many hours of experience do you have with them? And I don't mean throwing one in the backyard, I mean taking it innawoods and relying on it. I'm curious why you've decided to hate them.
