>>258394>/out/ is also a cheap one. just go out.Oh, the naiveté of this post... sweet child, never change, Remain an innocent, unsullied inhabitant of the Earth forevermore...
For grown-ups, you see though, there's no such hobby as "out." People say that they are going to "go out" on this board, but this is a bizarre new expression that doesn't have much practical usefulness beyond talking about getting into an outdoors-related hobby or two from a vague, general, beginner's point of view. To people who actually have outdoors-related hobbies, there are actual names for them that we use, like canoeing or kayaking, which requires that one....
>buy or rent a canoe/kayak and paddles>buy a rack to tie it to your car>buy drybags>pay for gas to get yourself to a river or lake...fly-fishing
>buy a fly rod, reel, line, flies, vest, and other necessary tackle>buy a fishing license/trout stamp for your state and any states you visit>pay for gas to get to a stream or lake...backpacking (general/wilderness)...
>buy camping gear that is small and light enough to fit in a backpack>buy a backpack>pay for gas to get you to your destination...mountaineering...
>buy lots of mountaineering-specific gear, like an ice ax, rope, harness, helmet, warmer boots, crampons, etc.>hire a mountain guide (optional, depending on the mountain and your skill level)>pay for gas to get yourself to a mountain...mountain biking...
>buy a mountain bike and helmet>etc.>etc....and all sorts of purpose-specific hobbies that cost money. It's true that the woods are free, but life costs money. That's the sad truth of life you'll learn as you get older.
