>>2189409Kinda drove all over the state and just camped where I could or felt fitting!
Monongahela National Forest was definitely one of the highlights of the trip, spent a few days there. Tons of trails that are either unlisted or are just not well recorded. Found some trees growing in the middle of the road, and didn't hear a car for days, very cool time.
Baker's run was great camping, clear 10ft water and you could watch the Pike swim by while casting, some of the most fun I had fishing that week.
Spruce Knob and Seneca rocks are cool as fuck too, but they're a bit bigger for tourists. I only stayed in that area for about a day or two.
Stopped in Charleston to see if I could find a dive bar for a cold drink and I'd recommend skipping it altogether, stay to the woods.
If you end up in Franklin (I think it was), there's a distillery with a dude named Vic-Bob that makes the best goddamn apple brandy you'll ever taste. $45 a bottle, but worth every sip.
