Like to think I'm being realistic. I have a basic bug in plan with enough food and water to last 2 people 3 months. I have a generator and fuel, a large vegetable garden, home defense, renewable water system, just basic stuff. I also have camping gear stored in a large backpack with a second large pack to stuff if I truly had to bug out, but let's be realistic here the odds of that happening are pretty slim. I keep a small get home bag in my car. I have multiple locations I can go to if I had to get out, and multiple ways to get there dependent on circumstance.
The main threat in my area is weather related, and potentially civil unrest. So that's what I'm ready for. I really feel like people should plan first to bug in, as it's the more likely scenario IRL. There's nothing wrong with a BoB at all but it shouldn't be the main focus.
