>>2051506Bears and moose. Certain bears will kill you because they saw you. Moose are dumb but huge and easily scared. I carry a cheap, snub nose .357 magnum revolver with me at all times because of it. So far I have only ever been charged by a bobcat because it had rabies, my real fear has never come true. I'd carry something more powerful for bear, I don't think .357 magnum is quite enough, but I can't afford it.
Also I never sleep when I go out. I need solid walls around me when I sleep. I fear a bear just stepping on the tent while I sleep and then mauling me to death when I wake up but I can't draw my revolver because I'm wrapped in fucking plastic.
The one time I've slept outdoors was when I found a space between rocks and I cut down trees to board up the entrance. Otherwise I just don't sleep.
