Lots of the lower 48 is covered in oak trees, they just drop tons upon tons of high calorie food every fall. The maples of the northeast literally ooze sugar water. The pinyons of the southwest drop tons of tasty nuts. Alaska has nothing like that. Theres no good staple sources of wild plants. You're forced to rely solely on meat.
These larpers should try surviving for a year on what they can hunt and gather in the more hospitable lower 48. Then if they can do that, maybe try Alaska.
