Sometimes, especially at city parks, I see a bunch of soil-like pellets sometimes with grass mixed in.
I used to think it was shit (from ducks/geese) so I'd be careful not to step on it and not to ride my bike through it. But it looks more like soil, and is in big patches with lots of it, so I suspected that maybe it's pellets of soil, maybe with grass seed mixed in spread by humans to make more grass grow? They're like 2 inches long maybe, and they're cylinder shaped.
What are they?
