Get a Bic. Yes, the standard, cheap, ubiquitous, grocery store Bic. There is no greater combination of reliability, durability, and low price. Don't get those cheap Chinese cracklighters, either. Go for the brand name Bic. They work. They're indestructible. They last forever and a day. Those high-end torch lighters are sickeningly expensive, eat up fuel too fast, and require special fuel if you want to refill them. Zippos are only useful for about one week, after which their fuel evaporates and they are useless.
Bics will work. They'll always work. Outdoor snobs like to turn up their noses at common goods you can find in any corner store. Pity, because Bics are the fucking best lighters you will ever own.
