It does depend on where youre going out at and what fish are biting. A lot of charters are just meat fishing so again it depends. I have had tons of fun on charter boats, never really had any problems with the capt or deckies being rude. Ive seen more drunken customers act like assholes than crew members.
If its your first charter then when the deckhand gives the talk in the beginning of the ride let them know youre new to this type of fishing. be observant to what the other fishermen are doing, how they are rigging and dont be afraid to ask questions.
