>>473178 My dog is a great, docile bro and is a beautiful pit/chow mix he just doesn't like strangers....if some prick didn't listen to me (and they almost never do) and got close enough for him to get a bite or two in just to shoot him I'd shoot backSon, you're an asshole. Let me break it down for you. You have a pit chow mix that "doesn't like people". So you have a dog mixed from breeds known to have social problems yet you haven't properly socialized it. You say you would "shoot back" after your dog attacks someone on the same trail or path as you? Macho posturing bullshit. If someone already has a gun drawn and used it in self defense against YOUR dog, you aren't going to get the drop on them by fumbling your piece out and returning fire before they do anyway. Let me tell you how I know this.
In 2012 I was hiking in a NC state park when a couple "lost control" of their "pit bull mix" dog and it came right at me. I managed to get my foot out in an attempt to kick the dog away but it was much faster than I anticipated and it bit down on the side of my foot. It hurt but as soon as it began shaking it's head back and forth my shoe came off and the dog fell away for a moment. Once it realized it didn't have me anymore it dropped the shoe and made to come at me again. That's when I unholstered and let off 2 shots of 158 grain semi-jacketed nosler hollow point, one of which went through the top left half of it's skull and splattered it's brain matter on the side of the trail.
