Well, everything's planted now. Tomatoes, cucumbers and onions in three pots, cantaloupes and watermelons in the ground. The latter two are in hills, hills about as hard as fucking rock when dried out, mind you, where I dug out a bit and filled with a few inches of mostly done compost. Honestly, I don't have high hopes for them, but growing is all about experimentation I suppose. Only thing left for me is to figure out the regular watering situation. Still trying to dig some trenches to allow water to flow down and around the hills where it'll slowly drain over the course of a few days until next watering every week. Depending on how well the melons and watermelons perform under their far less than ideal circumstances, I may or may not modify what I will do for my pumpkins come June.
