>>1216029I think that one is a cider apple x wild apple so you can probably imagine how it tastes. Can be a useful component in cider, I did an experimental single variety batch with it but the tannins were so harsh it had to mature for a year to be even drinkable and will never ever be fantastic.
Never tried making pectin or cooking it down to jam. It's a big tree with lots of blossom and always healthy so I like it just for that. I've got quite a few, most of them are as old as the hills and pretty useless apart from looking really cool.
