There are a ton of awesome day hikes all thru out the park- grab a guide book and figure out how long you want to hike. There will be a ton of people at big attractions like OF, Yellowstone falls etc...but the vast majority of people do not go more than a mile from their car...its easy to find solitude even in the busiest season.
If you are in Mammoth- beaver ponds loop is an easy yet rewarding hike. If you want a challenge- climbing Electric peak is cool- not technical but still challenging and called Electric peak cuz of the numerous lightening strikes it gets.
