All materials do that, even insulation. What is best is encapsulation and reflectivity, to keep heat transferring to a minimum.
You can use 2 mattresses stack on each other to radically improve heat retention. I recommend buying some ultra cheap pool mattresses or thin foam rubber and placing that under your air mattress. You can also place an infrared reflector on or under the mattress. This can be an emergency blanket.
