I found these while hiking on the Tambora volcano in Indonesia. There are often forest fires and I saw plenty of still burning fires. The path are often covered in hot ash and I saw the coins lying hidden under some burned down trees, when I lost the trail.
Can someone identify them? They are obviously Chinese.
Chinese coins were used there in the past but it's still confusing to me how the coins could survive the most powerful volcanic eruption in (recorded) human history.
