>>1289142Cats hunt along the whole water column. The "they're only bottom feeders" thing is mostly a myth because they'll eat anything that smells. Their whole body is basically a nose. It's also dependent on species of cat.

The castaway rod is definitely the most sensitive rod I own, but its not really $90 more sensitive than the fury, balance, vendetta ect... I think ~$100 is around the point where you reach diminishing returns on rods. Of course if you can afford a $200+ rod I'm not going to tell you not to buy it, but I don't think you're missing out on all that much.
The main thing with buying an expensive rod is you know it's going to be quality where as with an $80 rod some are great and some are meh. Like the Abu vendetta is a pretty sesitive rod and the lews Mach 2 is just average. You probably won't miss many fish with the Mach 2, but it's just less sensitive than I'd like (the reel is fantastic for the price though).
The main reason I got the castaway was for corrosion restistance. The guides are suppose to be some Gucci material that won't rust. Which I'm testing right now along with the concept z. They both got completely covered in saltwater this last trip and I'm seeing if they're gonna hold up like the manufacturers claim.
